The European cinema evening is organised by the Europa Cinemas network of film cinemas, which includes five Estonian cinemas – Thule in Kuressaare, Võru Kannel, Tartu Elektriteater and Tallinna Sõprus and Artis. This year, the European Cinema Night will take place in 80 cinemas across Europe and aims to showcase the best pieces of European cinematography and to value going to the cinema.

Funded by Creative Europe MEDIA, Europa Cinemas was founded in 1992 and today brings together more than 1300 high-value film cinemas across Europe. The aim of the network is to financially support cinemas showing European films, to educate young audiences and to assist in the day-to-day operation of cinemas.
