On 15 September, the European Commission announced a series of policy measures and funding opportunities to further develop the New European Bauhaus. This will bring a greater cultural and creative dimension to the European Green Deal. Between 2021 and 2022, around €85 million will be allocated to New European Bauhaus projects. This amount comes from a number of EU programmes, including Horizon Europe and, to a large extent, Horizon Europe Missions. Find out more and apply here. A new European Bauhaus laboratory will also be created – 'think and do' to create, prototype and test new tools, solutions and policy recommendations.

Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, also presented the first New European Bauhaus Awards for the first time in Brussels. According to him, the winning projects show that by joining forces in the arts, education, research and innovation, we can create a sustainable, inclusive and accessible environment that improves the quality of life for all of us.
