The special programme Rongfilm of the Kino maale film festival will be screened from 5 to 25 October in five Elron trains running on the Tallinn-Tartu-Valga, Tallinn-Tartu-Koidula, Tallinn-Viljandi and Tallinn-Narva lines. Train film is the first and unique way in the world to show films during the festival – this year, the train film special program includes a cross-section of nine short film programs in The Land of Cinema with a focus on German cinematography.

"The Kino maale film festival, which is experimenting with new smart solutions, has created a special program of the festival, which for the first time will be called Rongfilm, or festival on the tracks, which will be displayed on five Elron long-distance trains in the three weeks of October," said Mariis Adamberg, Elron's head of marketing and communications.  He explained that since trains have been part of cinematography throughout history, and many train passengers have so far watched movies from their computers during longer journeys, the special program for Kino Maale certainly meets the expectations of many passengers for furnishing their travel time. Technical solutions on trains are taken care of by Ledzep Group OÜ, a long-time partner of Elron and Kino maa.

"This year's cinema paintings festival programme will focus on German cinematography. Elron's trains offer a special program called Rongfilm, which gives an overview of all nine kino paintings from the short film program of the film festival, i.e. from German cinematography to the works of jubilees of the Estonian animation genre," explained Indrek Yurtšenko, the main organizer of the Kino maale film festival, who added that short films will be screened on Elron trains so that cinema culture reaches different places in Estonia.

Longer films and screenings can be viewed from the cinema halls of their home region all over Estonia and, for the first time, from the Kino maale website: http://kinomaale.ee/virtuaalne-kinosaal.

Kino maale is a film festival aimed at rural areas in Estonia, the programs of which are shown by dozens of cultural and educational institutions all over Estonia, online and free of charge for everyone.
