From May 9, a selection of Ukrainian films will reach viewers for free to collect support for filmmakers.
On Europe Day, May 9, the film program "Glory to Ukrainian filmmakers" begins in cinema Artis.
The film program will open on May 9 at 17:30 in cinema Artis with the film "Donbass" (Sergey Loznitsa, 2018), preceded by a discussion on free media and Russian propaganda. Media expert Andres Jõesaar, Head of the European Commission Representation in Estonia Vivian Loonela and Minister of Culture Tiit Terik are in the village.
A selection of different Ukrainian films will be screened on 9-12 May in Tallinn cinemas Artis and Sõprus, and donation phones will be open instead of a ticket. Starting from May 9, it will be possible to watch a larger selection of films in PÖFF's online cinema and from the end of May via ETV.
"Glory to Ukrainian filmmakers" is a very good opportunity to get acquainted with the rich culture and cinematography of Ukraine, which, against the background of current war news, deserves much wider coverage.
